Seniors Outreach News December 18, 2013

The beautiful Christmas season is upon us again whether we are ready for it or not. We are certainly guaranteed a white Christmas this year which makes the houses decorated with lights sparkle more.
It is a time of celebrating with family and friends. It is a time of enjoying wonderful food and the singing of Christmas carols. It is a time of giving and receiving. For me, as for many others, the joy of giving makes Christmas fun and rewarding.  As you think about Christmas, what are your special memories?  What do you enjoy most about this season? There are many ways for each of us to bring the gift of hope and happiness to those around us.
At Seniors Outreach, there are many opportunities to give the greatest gift of all - your time that makes a difference. At this time of year, we want to especially thank all our volunteers for the priceless gift you give that enables Seniors Outreach to touch more than 5,500 people a year whether through caring cars, bus driving, caring visits, handyman work, meals on wheels, Lifeline, link to health, hosting at the Drop-In Centre, or through community partnerships such as knitting for charity and working at Blood clinics.  You make this community and County a better place to live and your commitment is an inspiration to others.
On Thursday, December 19th from 2:00 to 4:00 at the CommUnity Drop-In Centre, we are holding a come and go Christmas Tea and we warmly welcome you to join us for goodies, beautiful music, door prizes, and more. For more information, please call our office at 403-443-2555. We are here to serve you.
