The Arboretum Christmas Market was a huge success, last Thursday evening. I haven’t been given any figures to report yet, but I know they exceeded their expectations in funds for this season. Supper was yummy, and the crowd was happy and huge. To all those donators of time, money and gifts - without you there wouldn’t be a market to come out and enjoy. You people amaze me, with a freezing cold night of blowing snow, you still come out and support your community, and bring your kids to see Santa!

Under the direction of President Bruce Campbell, the Trochu Legion #98 led a celebration of remembrance at the Cenotaph, despite the coldest Remembrance Day in 29 years. The large gathering present was committed to keeping the pledge “Lest we forget.”  Trumpet player Kevin Liang stirred the hearts of all with The Last Post, and following two minutes of silence, Reveille. Numerous wreaths were laid for he Government of Canada, the Legion, the County, the Town, RCMP and different organization

TOPS Chapter AB 2833 Trochu hosted a very successful Fall Rally September 27, 2014 at the Baptist Fellowship Centre with 2011 TOPS members registered. Men and ladies travelled from Calgary, Cochrane and cities and towns in between with Trochu being the furthest north east Chapter. We enjoyed interesting speakers, several entertaining skits and many great draws donated by many local businesses.
