I’m sure most everyone is pleased with all the rain the past ten days or so. Lawns are green again, all vegetation has taken on renewed life and fields and sporting various shades of colour. The flower barrels around town are also beautiful.
The residents of St. Mary’s were honored with a special High Tea for the celebration of Seniors on June 23. Our volunteer, Mary Glen Guard, prepared the goodies and several staff served the residents for our special celebration.

Trochu and District Hall Development Society 300 Club winners for May were Lorene Adolf, Sharon Wesgate Marlene Knievel and Steve Rose.

Trochu Elks 200 Club winners for May were Lynn Hughes, Mary Green, Denise Daniels and Ron Lumley.

A number of events have taken place at the Trochu Drop In Centre this past month. A noon barbeque was held with funds raised given to the Fort MacMurray families staying in the Lions campgrounds. Then on June 9, the Drop In hosted the Seniors Week pancake breakfast.

March came in like a lamb, will it go out like a lion? Balzac Willie’s prediction of six more weeks of winter didn’t materialize. Instead, spring-like weather is being enjoyed. Geese are flying overhead, doves are cooing, listen to the twitter of the songbirds in the trees and enjoy a walk in the sunshine on the trails.

Trochu Drop-In had to be vacated on Feb. 3 due to a water break on Main Street which caused water to flow into the cellar. Meanwhile, a space in the Baptist Fellowship Hall was graciously offered for use by the Drop-In until their own building can again be occupied.
