Now that summer is over, welcome the fall season with its colourful display of red, yellow and glistening gold. Take a drive out in the country and enjoy nature’s beauty.
The monthly Bingo and Birthday celebrations were held at the Drop In on Tuesday, Sept. 15 with a number of members and guests coming out to enjoy an afternoon of fun and laughter. Ron Mossop, assisted by Bruce Guard, called the numbers for the ten games played. Ron called the right numbers for Dianne Bersett who was so pleased to win the blackout prize. Happy Birthday was sung and those present to have their picture taken were Bert Adrian, Larry Clarke, Elsie Garson and Ruby Sailer. Visiting while enjoying coffee and cake concluded the afternoon.
Trochu and District Hall Development Society 300 club winners for August were Joanne Peterson, Joanne Schneider, John Tullikopf and Dale and Diane Moran.
Trochu Elks 200 Club winners for August were FeFe Avramenko, Aaron Stankievech, Veronika Brown and Paul Frere.
Royal Purple news
The regular meeting of the Trochu Royal Purple Elks #71 was held on September 14 with 22 members present. Conductress Lady Sandra Beaver introduced District Deputy Jean Frere as she was there for her first official visit.
Meeting was called to order and the minutes from the June meeting were read and accepted. Both Treasurer’s reports and bills were presented and approved.
Lady Theresa Adams received her seven-year Treasurer Jewel on June 14. The Royal Purple presented a cheque for $25 at the Trochu Flower Show.
The box lunch program was held Sept. 14 with proceeds going to the Tro-Val and Three Hills Schools. Meals on Wheels will be distributed during October. Lodge closed followed by a lunch enjoyed by all. The next meeting is Oct. 11.
