Dance Celebration Compete; Prepare For Year-End Recital

Dancers from Dance Celebration had a busy weekend at area festivals and competitions, with over 30 dancers stepping onto the stage. The Drumheller Performing Arts Festival held at the Kaleidoscope Theatre had 12 dance numbers perform on Friday, receiving Honors and Distinction for their dances in various styles including Ballet, Lyrical, Tap, Hip Hop & Variety. Three of the performances were called back to receive overall awards at the final concert held Sunday afternoon. Pictured are: Highest overall group 12 & under “Woodland Fairies”, Highest Mark in a Ballet solo, and Most Promising - Milo Sich, and Highest Mark in dance duets 13 & under - CaiElle Driedger and Hannah Savage.

Highland dancers were also busy taking the stage in the Chinook/Energy Capital competition, with Eve Robertson (pictured) earning the overall trophy for Premier Nationals in her age category.

Dancers take to the stage in Stettler next weekend, and other area festivals & competitions in April, before bringing their performances back to the local stage in May.

Dance Celebration’s year-end recital “Peter Pan” will be held May 2-4, 2024. Watch for an ad for tickets in The Capital in early April.
