Every Moment Matters

Every Moment Matters was the theme of National Volunteer Week, from April 14 - 20 and Kneehill Regional Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) hosted and promoted several initiatives throughout the Kneehill Area.

Volunteer Coffee Breaks were held in the communities of Acme, Linden, Carbon, Huxley, Trochu and Three Hills, sponsored by Volunteer Alberta and Kneehill Regional FCSS. Kneehill Regional FCSS staff hosted and were joined by many of the fantastic volunteer organizations and volunteers in our area.

A Volunteer Forum was held on April 18 in Three Hills. The light supper and presentation were sponsored by Kneehill Regional FCSS, with Social Media Consultant Beverley Theresa joining to discuss “Social Media as a Strategy to Engage Volunteers”. Beverley discussed the importance of social media for nonprofits, the need for organizations to create a strong social media strategy and provided attendees with several tools and resources to start using right away.

The deadline for Kneehill Volunteer Nominations was April 19, and several nominations were received. Finalists will be contacted by April 26th and announced the week of May 1st.

Kneehill Regional FCSS greatly appreciates all the support received for National Volunteer Week.
