Linden Sports Day Set for June 11

Linden Sports Day for June 11, will highlight a free pancake breakfast (sponsored by Linden Business Association), a parade, iron chef competition, family fun events and entertainment, a barbeque beef dinner, and fireworks at dusk. These events are sponsored by the Linden and District Agricultural Society with Encana as a major sponsor.
Back this year is the Idol-Youth Talent Competition. This is a talent competition, not just singing, and it is open to all Kneehill residents whether individuals or groups, not just the Village of Linden. Applications are available at schools, the town offices, or businesses and there is no fee to enter. They can be dropped off or faxed to the Linden Village Office (or phone organizer, Jessica Bridges 443-8138) for information. There are two categories to differentiate between ages six to twelve, and thirteen to eighteen. You will be judged on talent, poise, appearance, stage presence, and overall impression. Early judging will take place starting around 1:30 p.m., but the judging of the (three) finalists in each category, will be held during the barbeque supper at the skating rink, with the winner announced at that time.
The public can participate in the final judging, as designated cards will be available for the final performance (for one dollar for each vote, with proceeds going to charity). A sound system is provided but material for contestants must be on a C.D.
