Jaylene Johnson Coming To Arts Academy

2011 Western Canadian Music Award (WCMA) nominee Jaylene Johnson brings her "angelic pipes" (Uptown Magazine) from Winnipeg to Vancouver Island and back this summer, including a stop at the Three Hills Arts Academy on Monday, August 1 at 7 pm. There is a cover charge for the event, but kids under 12 can attend for free. Joining her on the bill will be Daryl Wilson. She will be playing songs from her nominated album, "Happiness", in addition to sharing her warmth, humour and wealth of original material.
Jaylene is no stranger to Three Hills, having recorded her sophomore album, Finding Beautiful (also nominated for a WCMA in 2004), with Stephen J. Rendall and Eldon Winter.
"I love playing in Three Hills. I've made many friends here, and it always feels like I'm coming home."
If you watch television, you've probably heard her music. She has a growing international audience through placements in television shows including Pretty Little Liars and Degrassi: The Next Generation. With five records of original material to her credit, she is also an in-demand cowriter, penning tunes with artists including Amy Sky, Hannah Georgas and Sierra Noble. Recent collaborations with Chris Burke-Gaffney (Chantal Kreviazuk; Kyle Riabko), The Keats and Eagle and Hawk also landed her ECMA and Juno nominations, as well as her third nod as a finalist in the renowned International Songwriting Competition.
The 14-date tour spans over a month and includes both traditional and non-traditional venues. For more information about where you can hear Jaylene in your area, or to follow her online, visit www.jaylenejohnson.com
