Wellness Centre Plans for Fall Season

Timely Tip: When using a walker, pushing a wheelchair or a stroller, keep the elbows tucked close to the body. This position helps to prevent strain on the back and uses the strength of the whole body.
A busy time in each Welness Centre these last few weeks. Goodbyes were said to some volunteers and welcome to others. There is still a need for you to join us if you have a vision for the wellness needs in your community. The children's summer program in Torrington continues until August 17 on each Tuesday and Thursday morning from 10:00 to 11:30. Check the insert in the post boxes. Pass on the information!
A successful fundraiser in the from of The Best of the Bad Desserts was held during the Mega Geo-Cache. We thank all those who contributed baked goodies. Special thanks to the "Taste of Dutch" contributor.
Plans for the Fall season are underway. An opportunity to operate a Casino event in January 2012 has been accepted. There is always a need to gather workers for the two days. Contact us if you have some time to invest.
It is time to renew user fees for the Exercise Room at the Carbon Centre. The password will be changed in September. Please contact Deanna at 403-572-3170. Watch for the sign up times that will be posted at the centre.
The contact number for the Massage Therapist in Acme has been changed. Make sure to note it in the bi-monthly Kneehill Area Wellness Centre Schedule in this week's Capital.
Funding through Regional FCSS covers the costs of our advertising. We recognize the regional concept to which the villages and towns contribute. What a wise joining of support.
Alberta Health Services have covered the costs of the rental and utilities of the four centres. This, along with the community group support, enables the volunteers to make the vision of wellness in the local communities a reality.
Torrington and area residents mark your calendar. The Flu Clinic will be held October 27 from 10 am to 12 noon in the Torrington Hall.
