MESSAGE FROM THE VILLAGE OFFICE

• One person inside the Village Office at one time. COVID-19 rules apply. Kindly, remain outside until the person has left the building before entering. Wear a mask, sanitize your hands and practice social distancing. Please continue to make bill payments on-line. Thank you for your continued patience.

• The Village of Acme is accepting Election Nomination Forms for the upcoming 2021 Municipal Election in October. If you are interested in running for office, you can visit our website for further information including a Candidate’s Guide and printable Nomination forms. Please note, you must hand in your nomination form directly to the returning officer, Gary Sawatzky. Please call ahead to ensure he is in the office. We will accept nomination forms until September 20th, 2021.

• The Village Office is now accepting nominations for “Volunteer of the Year” 2020 Award. This award will be presented during our Sports Day Celebration in June. Final date for nominations will be April 30th, 2021.

• Census Jobs – Statistics Canada is hiring in our community, between March and July 2021. If you are interested, visit www.census.gc.ca for more information.

• No one wants to look at or step in dog/cat poop!! Animal Reminder, as a pet owner it is your responsibility to clean up after your dog/cat. Including neighbor’s yards, sidewalks, along roads, paths or trails surrounding the community. Carry the necessary bags to clean up.

• Spring Forward! Sunday, March 14th, 2021 is Daylight Savings.

• The Acme Municipal Library is offering curbside pickup during COVID-19. Students and residents in the Village are encouraged to use this service. Please refer to the acme website www.acme.ca for more information.

• St. Patrick’s Day March 17th, luck of the Irish to us all.

• FCSS Kneehill Region (Family and Community Support Services) has donated Craft Kits (paints, Cootie Catchers and more) to the Village Office. If you would like one, please come into the office and request one for your kids. We only have five so first come, first serve.

• Please have your garbage bagged & out for pick up on Wednesdays by 8 a.m.

• Transfer Site hours – Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
