Linden-Acme Growing Project raises over $150,000

The Linden-Acme Growing Project, once again held at the C.C. Toews Farm, was again a great success. A total of 2935 metric tonnes of barley silage, sold at $38.00 per tonne, for a total of $111,530. The drive-through supper was met with overwhelming support; so much that some people had to be turned away at the end of the evening. 530 dinners were served. This year’s total from cash donations was $43,560.

Annual Fishing Derby held in Linden

Fishing Derby 2020, hosted by the Linden & District Ag Society, was held on Saturday, August 22 at the Linden coulee campground.

There was an awesome turn out this year with 19 entries in the 12 years and under age group category, three entries in the 13 - 17 year category, and 16 entries in the adult 18 and up category for a total of 38 contestants! The hot weather has been hitting some folks hard these days. But, these buddies decided to make a good thing of it. Dane and Fritz, both nine years old, set up their lemonade stand on holiday Monday, just off Main Street, Three Hills. The boys offered different sizes of lemonade, with or without ginger ale, and with or without lemons. The boys report the idea was “good to the last drop.”

Three Hills Curling Club had their annual Cash Dance draw this year on June 20, with one thing missing, the dance. Due to Covid-19 the popular function was cancelled but the fundraiser proceeded. Total sold tickets were 347.
