The Trochu and District Museum opened it's "Chop Suey on the Prairies" exhibit last Thursday by welcoming past and present owners of the Peking Cafe. Wen and Katie Liang were joined by Nelson and Ann Leung, of Calgary, their son Kin of Edmonton with his wife Jenny, and sons Ekin, and Cayman. All enjoyed visiting old friends and reminiscing about days gone by. Drop by the museum Monday through Saturday any time in August to see this interesting history of Chinese restaurants.

Norman King Celebrates 100 Years

Norman King celebrated his 100th birthday on July 19. On Sunday, July 31, the centenarian was honoured at a church service at the family farm where Norman grew up and farmed for many, many years. The 2011 Acme Flower and Vegetable Show will be held Wednesday, August 17 at the Acme Community Centre with the theme of Old MacAcme Had A Garden.

2011 Western Canadian Music Award nominee Jaylene Johnson brought her music to the Three Hills Arts Academy on August 1st. Newly appointed Executive Director for the Arts Academy Daryl Wilson opened the show with a handful of acoustic numbers before Jaylene was introduced. She opened with her single "Closer" featured on the TV show Pretty Little Liars. The songstress intrigued the listeners with her heartfelt songs about her journey with faith, life and love.
