• The Village of Acme is accepting Election Nomination Forms for the upcoming 2021 Municipal Election in October. If you are interested in running for office, you can visit our website for further information including a Candidate’s Guide and printable Nomination forms. Please note, you must hand in your nomination form directly to the returning officer, Gary Sawatzky. Please call ahead to ensure he is in the office. We will accept nomination forms until September 20th, 2021.

• Senior’s Week is June 7 – June 13, 2021. Our seniors help shape our “Village” and enhance many community programs. Please take a moment on your walks, phone calls or shopping local to thank seniors for the tremendous positive impact they leave on each and every one of us.

• Acme Sports Day – Saturday June 19, we will be hosting a drive by parade at 10 am. If you would like to participate, please call Trish at 403-546-3988 or the Village Office. Lets’ see if we can get a better turn out than the Christmas parade which was a huge success enjoyed by all. Fireworks will start at dusk from the ball diamond. Please watch for COVID-19 restrictions and adhere to any guidelines set out by AHS.

• Trish Mandel has been awarded Volunteer of the Year through Kneehill County, representing Acme. A BIG CONGRATULATIONS and a special thank you for going above and beyond in making Acme a better place for all. Your time spent with the Acme Angels organizing community events and putting fun and spirit back into the Village is inspiring.

• June is Recreation and Parks Month. Recreation & Parks enhance quality of life through play, social interaction, a better mental outlook on life and build stronger family units. The Village installed a new children’s park behind the pool and added equipment to Rose Park on May 27 and 28. Grab the family, pack a picnic, get some fresh air and enjoy the new additions we’ve made to our community. A BIG THANK YOU to all the VOLUNTEERS who made it happen.

• The Village has hired AIC Construction to repair and upgrade the infrastructure on Davis Street and Prospect Ave, work will commence May 25, 2021 (weather permitting). The project is scheduled for 60 days and will be done in sections. Please watch for signs and construction traffic. To learn more about the project check out our web site (

• The Village of Acme Office is currently accepting tenders for the position of Custodian. This position requires keeping the building and property in clean and orderly condition and keeping a running inventory and stock of all cleaning supplies. Cleaning frequency will be two times per week with potential additional cleaning with COVID-19 protocols. The office offers a friendly environment to work in and allows the individual(s) the empowerment they need to complete their tasks with minimal supervision. • Property taxes have been mailed out and are due Thursday July 29. Please pay ahead of time to avoid the 16% penalty.

• Featured Business of the Month: Gas Plus, open daily from 8 am to 8 pm with the pumps open 24/7. They have a new section in the store – Homemade pastries, fresh coffee and so much more. Stop in and check it out. The reviews have been great! ADD

• The Acme Municipal Library is CLOSED due to COVID-19, curbside pick up is in place. Please refer to the acme website for more information.

• Acme Food Bank – If you require assistance with food, the Acme Food Bank is available to help. If you are self isolating, please make them aware so they can ensure the safety of their volunteers when arranging delivery of food hampers. • One person inside the Village Office at one time. COVID-19 rules apply. Kindly, remain outside until the person has left the building before entering. • We bid farewell to one of our Public Works team members, Denis Boulet. Denis is retiring and moving forward into a new chapter of his life. Thank you for 13 years of service with the Village of Acme. Best of luck in your new endeavors!!

• Please have your garbage bagged & out for pick up on Wednesdays by 8 a.m.

• Transfer Site hours – Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
