LADIES CURLING – Thursday’s at 6:30… anyone who brings kids can pitch in for sitters (arranged by the Curling Club). Whether it’s been a few years or since high school, come on down and try out this great sport. Brooms and sliders are available at rink.
2013 ANIMAL & BUSINESS LICENSES – Cat and altered dog licenses are $20.00 and unaltered dog licenses are $30.00 until January 31, 2013. As of February 1, 2013, licenses increase to $35.00 for cats and altered dogs, and $45.00 for altered dogs. Business licenses are $10.00.
SNOW REMOVAL – Please keep sidewalks clear of snow, ice and obstructions. Public works will be shoveling when necessary, and an invoice will be issued for minimum $40.00. Electrical cords over sidewalks must be at least 2.5 metres (8 feet) above the sidewalk, no cord is to be laid on the sidewalk.
ASSESSMENT REVIEW BOARD – Village Council is look to fill a vacancy on the Regional Assessment Review Board. Training is required and will be covered by the Village of Carbon.
RECREATION BOARD MEMBERS – Council is looking to fill a vacancy on the Carbon And District Recreation Board. Meetings are usually held on the first Monday of the month, and usually break during summer months. The Rec Board is responsible for general recreation programs within the community, and promotes healthy lifestyles. CLEANER FOR HALL – The Carbon Community Centre is now accepting applications (available for pick up at village office) for a one year term Feb. 20, 2013 to Jan. 1, 2014.
