SUMMER LIFE GUARD POSITIONS – The Village of Carbon is now accepting application for swimming pool life guards. Deadline for applications is March 30, 2014. Email to or mail to Box 249, Carbon, AB T0M 0L0.

CAO POSITION – The Village of Carbon is accepting applications for a full time position of Municipal Administrator / CAO. The chosen candidate will be required to be a team player to providing leadership and possessing exceptional communication abilities. Candidates with experience and education in budgeting, finance, and management with a sound understanding of municipal administration and governance will be given preference. 2014 PHONE BOOKS – Area phone books are ready for pick up at the Village office.

DUELING PIANOS – March 15 the Carbon Fire Department presents DUELING PIANOS. Ticket available at the Village office at $35 each. Cocktails at 6 PM; supper at 6:30 PM. Silent Auction. Mardi Gras themed night!

CARBON DISCOVERY NIGHT – March 4 from 5-7 PM. Carbon will be hosting the Volunteer Appreciation Community Discovery and Sport Registration Night. Enjoy hot dogs, hamburgers and find out what services and resources are available in the community.

DOG AND CAT LICENSES – As of February 1, 2014, fees are $35 for dogs and cats; $45 for unaltered dogs and unaltered cats.

LIONS CENTENNIAL PARK PAVERS – Second installation of pavers will be in 2014. Should you be interested in purchasing one, contact the village office. Deadline is April 30, 2014.

WATER RATE INCREASE – Village of Carbon water rates will be increased as of January 1, 2014. These rates will be reflexed on your January-February bill. Present water rate is $3.30/cubic meter. Increase will be $3.80/cubic meter. Your average billing will increase approximately to $165.84.

MUD STOMP – The second annual Carbon Mud Stomp, June 21. Registrations are now being taken on line at the $40 adults & $15 kid until May 15. After May 15, $45 adults and $20 kids.
