Municipal Administrator / CAO – The chosen candidate will be required to be a team player to providing leadership and possessing exceptional communication abilities. Candidates with experience and education in budgeting, finance, and management with a sound understanding of municipal administration and governance will be given preference. SPRING CLEAN UP – May 20 to 23 between 10 AM & 3 PM. Bins will be placed on the west side of the Village Office. ACCEPTABLE items are: household items, furniture, appliances. NO construction material or electronics.

TOXIC ROUND UP – June 10 between 4 PM & 7 PM at the fire hall. ACCEPTABLE items are: paint, chemicals and all electronics.

FARMERS EXCHANGE – Open May 3-4 from 11-5 in celebration of Mining Days. Regular season starts May 17; Tuesday – Saturday from 12 Noon – 5 PM. Museum Membership drive; cost is $20.00 for 5 year membership or $100.00 for lifetime membership. This will be the last year to view the Carbon Murder Mystery, located upstairs at the Farmers Exchange....DON'T MISS IT!!!

CARBON YOUTH SKATE FUNDRAISER – "ROYALLY FLUSHED", runs from May 1-31. If a toilet is placed on your lawn for no apparent reason it is then your job to make a donation of $10 to the Skate Park to have it removed BUT you have the choice of whose lawn it appears on next. CARBON SPORTS DAY – June 14; Free breakfast at the Hall from 8-10; Parade at 11; Lunch at Farmers Ex and Curling Rink 12noon-2pm; Slow pitch and soccer; Community Garage Sales 10 -3; Lions Roast Beef Supper 5-7, Dance Saturday night with Dominos cabaret.

MUD STOMP – The second annual Carbon Mud Stomp, June 21. Registrations are now being taken on line at the www.events.runningroom.com. $40 adults & $15 kid until May 15. After May 15, $45 adults and $20 kids.

VILLAGE OF CARBON BYLAW 2013-783 – Off-highway/Prohibited Vehicle Permits. A person who wishes to operate an off-highway/prohibited vehicle within the Village shall pay a permit fee of $20 and obtain a permit provided that the person: i) is at least 14 years of age; ii) holds a valid Class 5 License or Class 7 (learners permit); iii) a certificate which establishes that the person has liability insurance up to a minimum of $200,000. Permits are available at the Village office.

Development Notice
The following development permit has been approved in accordance with Land Use Bylaw 2009-762 and amendments thereto. Subject to certain conditions, any individual may appeal the approved development permit. The appeal must be in the form of a notice accompanied with a $50.00 fee and must be received by May 21, 2014 at 4:00 PM. Additional information may be obtained from the Village of Carbon during regular office hours.
