2020 TAXATION NOTICE & PROPERTY ASSESSMENT DUE DATE IS JULY 31, 2020 –THE DUE DATE IS JULY 31, 2020 for all outstanding taxes. The 9% penalty on amounts owing after July 31, 2020 has been waived this year due to COVID-19, but the due date remains July 31, 2020.

TAX NOTICES – 2020 Property Tax Notices have been mailed on June 25, 2020. Accepted payment is cash, cheque or debit. If paying by direct deposit via your bank, please make sure that you use your TAX ROLL number as the account number and allow 3 – 5 days for processing. Tax roll number is on your tax invoice. If you are paying with a Visa or Master Card there will be a 2% processing fee added. Taxes are due July 31, 2020.

2020 ASSESSMENTS – Mailed out June 25, 2020. If you do not agree with your assessment, please contact our Assessor: Stephen Washington at Wild Rose Assessment (403) 343-3357. If further action is required, you may file a written complaint to the Assessment Review Board (forms at the Village Office). A $50.00 fee must accompany each appeal and it must be received on or before COMPLAINT DATE of September 1, 2020.

CARBON CEMETERY NOTICES – Please be advised that there is an area blocked off at the Carbon Cemetery as there is a badger in this area. Notices have been posted around the cemetery entrances and the badger’s den. Please stay clear of this area for everyone’s safety, including pets.

DIAMOND VALLEY SUBDIVISION ~ REDUCED PRICES! – In an attempt to draw people to our community, the Diamond Valley Subdivision Lot Prices have been reduced! The Village of Carbon is a beautiful community that has much to offer! ATTENTION PUBLIC: The Village of Carbon is offering Diamond Valley Subdivision reduced lots from $5,000 and ranging up to $7,500. Incentives will be given for building within one (1) year or eighteen (18) months plus recreation incentives. Please direct all lot & information inquires to Royal LePage Country Realty, Main Street, Three Hills, AB. 403-443-2008. As per MGA, Section 70 (1), if a municipality purposes to transfer or grant an estate or interest in (a) land for less than its market value. the proposal must be advertised.
