(Annual, Oil and Gas Field)
The Assessor for Kneehill County must re-inspect all properties within the County regularly. It is not possible to inspect each property each and every year. In an effort to meet this requirement the Assessor will re-inspect the County on an ongoing base. As part of the re-inspection the assessor will verify the existing details on the assessment roll and adjust as necessary for any discrepancies. Annually the Assessor does inspect new or progressive properties, oil and gas leases and checks any changes that are brought to our attention.
The Assessor understands that in some instances there may be no one home at particular properties, when we are working in the area. In these cases we will do an outside inspection of the property and a notice will be left for the property owner or tenant to give us a call. Most of the time we may be able to resolve any outstanding assessment detail issues on the phone after an exterior inspection is completed. So please cooperate by giving us a call if requested to do so.
Remember the Assessor not only prepares assessments for the County, the Assessor is also a source of information to help the property owner understand their particular property assessment.
Per the Municipal Government Act reasonable notice is to be given before inspection, it is however impractical to contact everyone individually; Kneehill County therefore gives notice that inspection of annual, oil and gas fields will be made within the next four months of the entire county.
