Linden March 12, 2014

Regular meetings held on the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month at 7 PM at the Village Office. The public is welcome to attend these meetings.

The owner or occupant of any premises abutting a sidewalk shall clear away all snow, ice, dirt or other obstruction from sidewalks situated on land adjoining the property owned or occupied by them within FORTY-EIGHT (48) HOURS after the time such snow, ice, dirt or other obstruction was deposited or formed on the sidewalk.

Please refrain from feeding deer within the village limits as they are a wild animal and will become dependent upon humans creating a dangerous situation for them and us. The deer are starting to become aggressive due to the fact that some citizens are feeding them. They are also losing their natural fear of humans and dogs, with reports of charging by some people in town. Yes they are beautiful to look at and seem very harmless, but they are a wild animal and could hurt you, a pet or child. Please DO NOT FEED THE DEER.

Now that the snow has arrived we ask that the residents of the village take some proactive steps to help our Public Works department clear the snow more efficiently.
• Whenever possible, park your vehicles off the roadway to allow for the plows to clear as much snow as possible, especially in the cul-de-sacs as vehicles make it difficult to maneuver snow removal equipment.
• Ensure that no vehicles are left on the street for more than 72 hours, as they could be towed, and it impedes the snow removal process.
• Try to shovel as much snow from your sidewalk onto your lawn as possible.
• Be a snow angel and help those that are unable to shovel their own snow, it will be appreciated.
If you have any comments or suggestions, please contact the village office at 403-546-3888.
