Municipal Grants to Community Not-For Profit Organizations and Volunteer Groups
Application Deadline for 2015 Grants is September 30th, 2014 at 4:00 PM
Council, of the Town of Three Hills makes available, modest financial support to not-for-profit organizations and volunteer groups within the municipality which render a service to the residents of Three Hills. This support is provided in recognition of the value these organizations and groups provide to the well being and growth of the community and in helping the Town of Three Hills retain a strong community focus.
Guidelines and application forms for the awarding of municipal grants to community not-for profit organizations and volunteer groups who apply to the Town of Three Hills for general operating and/or capital project assistance are available online at www.threehills.ca or at the Town Office.
All grant requests will be assessed in terms of the need for the project; cost effectiveness, financial viability, contribution to the quality of life in the community and community involvement / response. DEVELOPMENT PERMIT:

Take notice that the following permit(s) for the proposed uses listed below has been issued in accordance with Land Use Bylaw, and any amendments thereto, of the Town of Three Hills:
Development Permit Application No: 61/900.046/14 by Kneehill Housing Corporation to construct an Accessory Building on Block B, Plan 7875HR (814 – 1st Street NE) Land Use Classification R-3 – Residential District

Development Permit Application No: 61/900.055/14 by Joanne Duncan to change the discretionary use on Lot 36 & 37, Block 6, Plan 4304AH (206 – 1st Avenue NE) Land Use Classification R-3 – Residential District from Bed & Breakfast and Rental Suites to Attached Dwelling Unit.

The above permit(s) shall become valid after a lapse of fourteen (14) days from the date of the newspaper in which this notice appears.
Anyone who feels prejudicially affected by this permit may appeal the permit by filing notice of appeal by 4:00 PM Wednesday October 1st, 2014 and paying the applicable fees. In the event of an appeal being filed, all interested parties will be notified.

EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
UTILITY OPERATOR II

The Town of Three Hills is currently accepting applications for a Utility Operator II. The primary function of this Employee will be to assist in the operation and maintenance of the Town water and wastewater utilities including the water treatment plant and wastewater lagoon. This position is under the direction of the Director of Operations and Infrastructure. Equipment operation may include: sewer flusher, sewer camera, bobcat, backhoe and single axle trucks. The employee must be able to lift 50 lbs. Weekend work is required.
The second function of this classification may involve occasional assistance with other Town operations. Employees may receive daily assignments or be given responsibility over specific tasks or projects.
Qualifications:
• High School Diploma or equivalency
• Valid Level II Water Treatment, Distribution and Waste Water
• Valid Class 5 Driver's License
• Effective communication skills, ability to understand oral and written instructions
