DEVELOPMENT PERMIT:

Take notice that the following permit(s) for the proposed use(s) listed below has been issued in accordance with Land Use Bylaw 1458-20 and any amendments thereto, of the Town of Three Hills:

Development Permit – Relocation of Building (Accessory Building) – No: 316316-22-D0003 by Wayne Lovstrom on Lot 9-11, Block 12, Plan 4304AH (221 - 4 Ave SE) Land Use Classification: R1 – Residential District.

The above permits shall become valid after a lapse of twenty-one (21) days from January 25, 2022, being the date, the Municipal Planning Commission made its decision on.

Anyone who feels prejudicially affected by these permits may appeal the permits by filing notice of appeal by 4:00 PM Tuesday, February 15, 2022, and paying the applicable fee. In the event of an appeal being filed, all interested parties will be notified.

Executive Assistant

We are looking for a full time, permanent, Executive Assistant responsible for the effective and efficient delivery of legislative and administrative support to the CAO and Senior Management Team. As the first point of contact for the CAO and Senior Management Team, this role will also interact with elected officials, all levels of government, outside agencies, public and internal staff.

It is the responsibility of the Executive Assistant to ensure compliance with all relevant legislation, policies, and procedures while providing service orientation to customers, both internal and external.

This role requires a self-motivated, dynamic, community-minded individual who has exceptional interpersonal and organizational skills who can be flexible and meet stringent deadlines.

Reporting directly to the CAO, the preferred candidate will:

FUNCTIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide confidential administrative support to the CAO and Senior Management Team to ensure resources are provided to make effective decisions.

• Prepare, compile, and distribute agenda packages and minutes as per the Council Procedure Bylaw.

• Research, draft, review, and complete reports, bylaws, policies, agendas, documentation, minutes, and press releases.

• Liaise with the public and community stakeholders to schedule and coordinate delegations to appear before Council.

• Schedule, coordinate, and make travel, meeting, and event arrangements as required.

• May be required to attend meetings and events, during and after regularly scheduled hours.

• Assist with developing and maintaining operating and capital budget processes.

• Maintain the records management systems and ensure the protection and security of files and records.

• Coordinate activities with external agencies and other operational areas.

• Display a high degree of confidentiality, professionalism and diplomacy.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Completion of post-secondary diploma in the field of business, administration, or related field.

• A minimum of five (5) years’ experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

• Commissioner of Oaths, or ability to obtain.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite of applications.

• Knowledge of applicable legislation including, the Municipal Government Act, the Local Election Authority Act, and the Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act.

Summer Labourers (Temporary Full-Time)

If you are a youth and would like to gain meaningful employment, learn about working in public service and serve the community in which you live, join the Town of Three Hills. The Town of Three Hills is seeking Summer Labourers to assist with staff in various departments for the 2022 season. Positions involve manual labour, working with and around equipment and power tools while adhering to Health and Safety procedures and policies. The anticipated start dates will be May 2022 through until the end of August 2022.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain recreational facilities and town owned lands including; mowing, weeding, tree maintenance, painting, and clean up.

• Assist in maintaining and repairing facilities to ensure safety and reliability.

• Waste collection, line painting, road maintenance and assist with safety barricades.

• May be required to assist with community events and administrative tasks.

• Assist with painting, mowing at utility related job sites, cleaning, etc.

• Work cooperatively with the management team and support other departments.

• May assist with duties at the landfill.

• May assist with application of herbicides and pesticides on public lands.

• Practice and encourage safe work behaviors.

The preferred candidate will possess:

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

• Must have a valid Class 5 driver’s licence

• Available to work evenings and weekends.

• Ability to communicate effectively with the public, supervisors, and coworkers.

• Ability to understand oral and written instructions.

• Ability to use computers and tablets.

• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.

• Ability to use discretion regarding confidential matters.

• Previous landscaping experience is considered an asset.
