Tax Installment Payment Plan
If you currently participate in the TIPPS program, post-dated cheques are due for January – June and must be dropped off at the office by the end of January 2014.
If wishing to enter into the TIPPS program your tax account must have had a 0 balance at December 31st, 2013 and 6 post-dated monthly cheques until June 2014. The amount of these is based on your 2013 taxes for the first 6 months and when your tax notice is received (in May or June) 6 more post-dated cheques are required based on the remainder of your taxes due.

Town of Trochu – CAO Job Posting
The Town of Trochu with a population of 1072 is an agriculturally based community with rural oilfield development. The Town is host to a large meat processing plant owned and operated by Sunterra Foods. Trochu is located on Hwy 21, Highway 585 and close to the junction of Highway 27. It is within easy driving distance to major centers such as Olds, Red Deer and Calgary. The Town of Trochu has an excellent working relationship with Kneehill County, the Town of Three Hills and the Villages of Carbon, Acme, and Linden. The Town of Trochu is in the Three Hills RCMP detachment area and hosts a joint School Resource Officer Program with the Villages of Elnora and Delburne. The Town of Trochu has a total of 12 full-time employees with an experienced support staff in Administration, Public Works, Utilities and Protective Services. The community operates an Arena and Swimming Pool as well as an Arboretum. The ideal candidate will possess:
• A Local Government Certificate and/or a NACLA certificate or working toward a designation however, consideration will be given to an equivalent level of education and experience
• Knowledge of municipal accounting, budget development and financial reporting is essential
• Knowledge of sourcing and securing grants
• Knowledge of Planning and Development Legislation
• Commitment to attraction and retention of Economic Development
• Excellent communication skills and management skills
• Previous experience and capacity providing services to the public
• Previous experience reporting to a Council or Board
• The ability to carry out the CAO duties as described in the Municipal Government Act and as delegated by Council.
• The desire to promote Regional Collaboration and to work cooperatively on joint contracts and projects

DEVELOPMENT PERMIT
The following development permit has been approved January 13, 2014 in accordance with Land Use Bylaw 98-06 of the Town of Trochu and amendments thereto with conditions.
Subject to certain conditions any person may appeal the approved permit. The appeal must be in the form of a notice accompanied by a $50 fee. Please note however, that developments listed as a "Permitted Use" may only be appealed if the development standards have been relaxed or varied, or if an affected person has determined that the Development Authority has misinterpreted the Land Use Bylaw. Developments listed as "Discretionary Use" may be appealed if an affected person has a legitimate grievance, or if the aforementioned reasons relating to Permitted uses apply.
