Katherine Kowalchuck, Candidate for The Independence Party for Olds/Didsbury/Three Hills, held a "Town Hall" meeting at the Trochu Community Centre from 7 to 9 PM on May 11, 2023.
The MC introduced Brett Oland, CEO of Bow Valley Credit Union. In his presentation, Mr. Oland reflected on some of the principles and practices of the Bow Valley Credit Union that seemed to fit the vision of The Independence Party.
Katherine Kowalchuk then addressed the audience. She is "a wife, mother and family law lawyer for 20 years. A resident of Standard AB. Passionate about justice accountability and upholding principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law."
Katherine shared how when she was introduced to the notion of an Independent Alberta in 2021, "It made sense to her."
In 2020, she co-founded "Lawyers 4 Truth". She spoke of "Constitutional separation and the eventual formation of the "Republic of Alberta". Another quote was "Everyone knows Trudeau wants to take our guns". And "Equity does not mean equality. It means equity in the outcome, ie. Marxism and Communism".
Katherine’s campaign slogan is: "Nothing changes if nothing changes".
She also addressed the charges from the other parties that the Independence Party are 'racists' and 'conspiracy proponents' and that running as an Independence Party candidate they will only be vote splitting.
