Crime statistics in the Three Hills RCMP detachment area show a definite decrease in numbers compared to one year ago.
A recent crime statistic summary, covering January to August, shows break and enters at a 19.1% decrease representing 21 fewer actual occurrences.
Theft of motor vehicles dropped by 48.5% with 16 fewer motor vehicle thefts.
Theft under $5,000 saw a 20.2% decrease or 24 fewer actual occurrences.
In the Criminal Code category total persons crimes are down 1.5% or three fewer crimes.
Property crime is down 23.1% or 119 fewer crimes while Criminal Code offences are down 16.2% or 140 fewer as compared to the same time last year.
These statistics are based on January to August 2022 versus January to August 2023.
