The Three Hills Royal Canadian Legion #92 held their Community Remembrance Day Service at the Bethel Evangelical Missionary Church on Saturday, November 11, 2023, at 10:15 a.m. Legion members were piped in and led by three RCMP members dressed in Red Serge. A good crowd attended the service. Padre Michael Robertson delivered a powerful, personal and emotional message. This was followed by an always touching rendition of “In Flanders Fields” as recited by Phil Johnson. The Laying of Wreaths followed the congregational hymn “Lead On, O God Eternal”, followed by Last Post, Two Minutes of Silence, Pipers Lament and Reveille. The Ode of Remembrance was offered by Legion President Doug Lorraine. The ceremony was completed with the singing of God Save the King, the congressional Hymn ‘It Is Well With My Soul” and a closing prayer. Able veterans and Legion members paraded to the Cenotaph for a short service and the laying of poppies. We Will Remember Them.
