Drumheller RCMP And Sheriffs Continue To Remove Impaired Drivers From Roadway


Drumheller, Alta – On the evening of March 28th, 2024 members of the Drumheller RCMP and the Alberta Traffic Sheriffs conducted a check stop on Hwy 10 near Walmart in Drumheller. During the check stop, approximately 35 vehicles and drivers were checked. As a result of the check stop:

1. Traffic ticket was written;

2. Drivers were subject to Immediate Roadside Sanctions (Caution);

3. One driver was subject to Immediate Roadside Sanctions for exceeding the legal limit (Fail), and

4. Three vehicles were seized as a result of the Immediate Roadside Sanctions.

Staff Sergeant Robert HARMS of Drumheller RCMP stated that “ Persons operating motor vehicles while under the influence of alcohol are a hazard to themselves and others on the roadway. RCMP and partners will continue Checkstops and focused patrols to make every effort to remove such drivers from the roadways.”
