Selkirk Water Service Area Officially Opened

Selkirk_Dedication

Kneehill County celebrated the commissioning of the Selkirk Water Service Area on Tuesday afternoon, May 24, 2011 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony at the site of the reservoir, located just south of the Village of Acme. Reeve Carol Calhoun, Deputy Reeve Bob Long and Councilors Holsworth, Wittstock, Hoppins, Keiver, and Painter were joined by Operations staff Pete McRae and Brandy Hay.
Howie Hedges, of Genivar, presented the Reeve with a commemorative plaque. Also from Genivar was Valerie Bouchard and Marty Rowley. Bud Craig was present from Chinook Pipelines as was Dalayce Nichiporik of Champagne Automation. Dalayce spent three weeks setting up the automated system. This site includes bulk fill, one of three reservoir sites for the County's Regional pipeline that have bulk fill, (all but Gamble and Grainger systems).
As of this date, the Selkirk line has about six landowners already hooked up, with another eight scheduled and another two that successfully completed water modeling.
