Three Hills RCMP Check Stop Report

Three Hills RCMP conducted several check stops over the weekend targeting impaired drivers, which resulted in four 24-hour suspensions and one 30 day suspension for a Graduated Driver's License (GDL) driver. Also on the highways identifying aggressive driving. Efforts resulted in 61 charges being laid for various offences including speeding, stop sign violations, suspended driving, and seatbelt infractions.
One youth was charged with Possession for the purpose of trafficking for having a quantity of marihuana in his possession, along with other items such as a scale and packaging material. In another vehicle stop, an adult male was found in the possession of 28 grams of marihuana and was charged with possession of marihuana. Both males were released on a Promise To Appear to attend in court in Drumheller.
In another incident, a male was found to be breaching his release conditions by consuming alcohol and was charged with breaching his undertaking and released on a Promise To Appear to attend court in Drumheller at a future date.
There were no serious traffic collisions in the Three Hills RCMP patrol area and all being said it was a safe May long weekend. Thanks to everyone for acting responsible and making this past weekend a time where people enjoyed their break and no tragic events were dealt with by the Three Hills RCMP.
