Two vehicles collided at an unmarked intersection south of Linden at Township Road 30-0 and Range Road 25-4.
The crash occurred about 6:40 pm Thursday, September 9. It appeared that a Yukon SUV was eastbound when it was hit broadside (on the passenger side) by a northbound four-door Pontiac Bonneville, driven by a Linden man.
Both vehicles ended up in the northeast ditch with the Pontiac coming to rest upside down with its male occupant trapped underneath.Linden Fire & Rescue attended to the extraction. The family dog was also in the Pontiac and suffered a hip injury.
The female driver of the Yukon had removed herself from her vehicle but emergency personnel credited her vehicle's curtain air bags for likely saving her life. Her vehicle also snagged a guide wire to a power pole that snapped one of the power lines. The live wire laid on the road marked off with emergency pylons until the power company arrived.
Both drivers were taken by Kneehill Ambulance to Three Hills Health Centre for undisclosed injuries, though not life threatening. There were no other occupants in either vehicle. RCMP are still investigating.
