PBI hosts Purely Canadian Youth Workers Conference

Canadian teens face many tough issues, issues that can make or break a life.
Last weekend, Prairie Bible College hosted its 4th annual Purely Canadian Youth Workers Conference where some of those tough issues were tackled under the theme of "Wreckage."
Guest presenters included Toronto's Brian Pengelly, Sid Koop from Lethbridge, and Juno Award winner Amanda Falk from Winnipeg. Workshops, focused on how to help teens, covered topics such as divorce, basic counseling skills, working with high-risk youth, adolescent development, creative Bible teaching, pornography, addictions, Internet safety, and others.
Over 60 youth workers participated, coming from across Western Canada. The 35 students in Professor Al Mertes' Youth Major classes helped prepare and present the conference as part of their Prairie learning experience.
Plans are already underway for next year's conference in October—Rescue 911.
