ATCO donates $2,000 to Torrington Fire Department

Efforts by the Torrington Fire Department to better equip and safeguard its volunteer firefighters received a $2,000 boost from ATCO Electric.
"At ATCO Electric, safety is a core value and we are particularly pleased to support one of Alberta's many volunteer fire departments which, like ATCO Electric, is deeply committed to the safety of the communities it serves," says Bobbi Lambright, President, Operations Division, ATCO Electric. "Our support of the Torrington Fire Department will ensure it has the necessary tools and equipment to protect the homes, businesses and lives of residents in the hamlet and surrounding area."
ATCO Electric's donation will be used to purchase new equipment for a newly purchased rapid-response rescue vehicle that meets current National Fire Protection Association (NFPA) standards.
"We are grateful for ATCO's financial support and ensuring that our community will continue to have professional and effective response to emergencies," says Mike Bauer, Torrington Fire Department Chief. "The new equipment will replace items from our old rescue vehicle that were obsolete by current NFPA standards and will help ensure the safety of our volunteer firefighters and the public."
