Become a Tax Volunteer

Help your Neighbour – Become a Tax Volunteer
Kneehill Regional Family and Community Support Services
Since 1971, the Canada Revenue Agency has worked with community volunteer organizations to help people complete their income tax and benefit returns.  Kneehill Regional Family and Community Support Services (FCSS) initiated the program in 2002 and since then over 750 tax returns have been completed in the Kneehill area. We anticipate our program will see over 100 returns completed in the upcoming tax season.
Many people don't know how to complete their income tax and benefit returns and are unable to pay for assistance. We need volunteers like you to provide this important community service to low income individuals who require assistance completing their basic tax forms.
What do you get out of it?
Becoming a volunteer is easy and rewarding. As a volunteer, you will meet other local people who, like you, want to lend a hand at tax time. You will also have the satisfaction of knowing that you are providing a service to those who need it the most.
How to get involved
Call 403-443-3800 or email if you would like to join us for a free training session in Three Hills on February 26, 2011. Canada Revenue Agency staff will review the information necessary to prepare basic income tax returns and focus on any changes for the 2010 taxation year.
If you have experience in completing basic tax returns and are interested in learning how you can help, please call us at 403-443-3800 or email  You will be a valuable addition to our volunteer team!
