On Wednesday, November 10, 2021, Martin Shields, Member of Parliament for Bow River was appointed Deputy Shadow Minister for Indigenous Services by Erin O’Toole, Leader of the Conservative Party of Canada, and Her Majesty’s Loyal Opposition.

“I am grateful to be appointed to the role of Deputy Shadow Minister for Indigenous Services by the leader of our Party and Official Opposition Erin O’Toole. I will seek to strengthen existing relationships I have with Indigenous Nations like Siksika in Alberta and to build these relationships across the country with other Nations.

In this role, alongside Shadow Minister for Indigenous Services MP Jamie Schmale, I will work to hold the Government to account to ensure Canada’s Indigenous communities are listened to, respected, and valued, in order to further reconciliation efforts and grow together as Canadians.”
