At Kneehill County's August 30 meeting, Council rescinded its borrowing by-law of $4 million, that originally was to alleviate any potential cash flow issues in 2012 due to a number of planned capital projects. The cash is no longer required as the water service area project is fully financed, and Council, as well, opted to cancel or defer (at this time) the construction of an administration building. The way it was...for garbage pickup.
At Three Hills Town Council meeting of September 12, the following motion was carried unanimously: "That effective September 13, 2011, the Town's Public Works Staff return to the pre-existing (prior to June 1, 2011) practices for collecting garbage from residential properties. That means, back alleys where it applies.
The results of the vote held September 7 for the question: "Are you in favour of front yard garbage pick up on a full time basis" were 343 "no"
