Drumheller Valley to hold Mayday Celebration
Drumheller Valley celebrates its mining centennial with its first Mayday celebration in decades.
The Mayday Festival will take place April 30 - May 1. Activities planned for Drumheller and the nearby communities of East Coulee and Wayne include a Mayday Parade, street festival and ghost walks, Atlas Coal Mine tours, children's activities, Centennial Fruit Dance, guided mine ruin tours and a night of miner music. Coal in the Valley, a new book on the area's mining history will also be launched.

Province Adds Extra Strength to Albertans' Donations
The Community Spirit Program, which encourages donations to nonprofit and voluntary organizations, will be helping 1,792 Alberta-based organizations deliver all types of community programs through the 2010-11 donation grant.
Now in its third year, the donation grant allows organizations to apply for a proportional grant based on the value of the donations they receive.

Body Found Near Beiseker
On April 22, 2011, at approximately 3:00 PM, Beiseker Detachment responded to a report of a deceased person in a field near the intersection of Secondary Hwy 566 and Range Road 274. The body was fully wrapped in a blanket. The scene was immediately secured by RCMP members.
A search warrant has been obtained for the area and the RCMP Identification Section is currently at the scene conducting an examination.
