The 3rd Annual Cruisin' for a Cause Day went August 25th at over 730 A&W Restaurant locations across Canada. A&W and the Multiple Sclerosis (MS) Society of Canada joined forces three years ago in the fight to end MS. One dollar from every Teen Burger sold went to the MS Society, along with one dollar paper car cutouts, and in-store donations. Torrington Gun Show Hits Target

In its fourth year now, the Torrington Gun Show continues to attract the serious hunter and collector and even the curious. Its success is showing with the maximum 108 vendor tables alloted by its organizer, and in the number of people that can be seen walking out of the arena with a rifle or bag of ammunition in hand. The Canadian Wheat Board (CWB) has released its latest Pool Return Outlook (PRO) for the 2011-12 crop year. Wheat values have increased since last month's PRO by between $12 and $18 per tonne, depending on class, grade and protein level. Durum values have gone up between $6 and $16 per tonne since the July PRO. Pool A feed barley is up $12 per tonne, while malting barley is unchanged from last month.

Horseshoe Canyon Rest Area Owned By Kneehill County

 

The Province has officially transfered ownership of the Horseshoe Canyon rest area over to the Kneehill County. After years of negotiations, the transfer was finalized on March 25, 2010. Kneehill County followed this up with improvements to the parking lot and washroom facilities. When Hwy. 9 improvements were finished, the County was able to install a Canadian Badlands sign. The land around the actual viewpoint and the fossil shop is still privately owned.
