The old light standards along Main Street, Three Hills are being replaced with 40 new ones. The process is set to take a couple of weeks, and will see some of the old lights used at Anderson Park. It was time for replacement, as no parts were available for the worn out units. In a joint project with the Town, ATCO Electric will own and maintain the 150 watt high pressure sodium lights.

Replacing the roof of the Linden Seniors Care and Share facility is slated to begin early July 2011. Shingles will be discarded in favor of off-white metal roofing. Donations were received from Kneehill County and Encana totaling about $8500 and there is also the donation of some labor from Key West Construction. On July 7th, 2011, Three Hills RCMP initiated a criminal investigation after receiving a complaint of an assault.  Police learned that on July 6th a 14 year old female and two friends were walking through a residential area in Trochu Alberta when they engaged in a verbal argument with a local resident.
A group of people exited the residence and assaulted the 14-year-old female by kicking and punching her.  The female received minor injuries as a result.

Fire Destroys Home

Emergency crews received a call for a structure fire southeast of Trochu June 29th around 10:30 am. Trochu Fire responded with their water truck and pumper. Three Hills Fire and Rescue was called and responded with their pumper and water truck, along with Torrington Fire, and an oilfield water service truck from Willco, and Kneehill EMS.
