Trochu Council, at its May 30 meeting, briefly discussed the common fall out that occurs each year when the tax notices are sent out. Staff has already experienced one uncomfortable incident. "We're gonna catch some flak," said the Mayor, "but there is a process for appeal, free to all, and if you don't appeal it, we can't even get it looked at. It's always a balancing act between the mill rate and assessment and yet I think we are getting everyone closer to the more fair for all, market value.

Sympathy is extended to the family of Allen Vaughn Gibson.  Allen passed away May 28 after a lengthy illness. He will be missed by his brothers; Larry (Betty), Bill (Sheila), Jim (Wendy) sisters; Marilyn, Pat (Tom).  Allen's funeral service was held last Friday in Drumheller.  The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations may be made in memory of Allen to DARTS in Drumheller or Special Olympics Alberta.
