Lest We Forget

"In Honour of Our Veterans" is the title of the latest mural erected in Three Hills. The Three Hills Mural Society is proud to pay tribute to the many brave men and women who have served our nation in past and present wars as well as peace keeping missions. The mural was painted by Lead Artist Brian Parlane and assistants Heather Honecker and Kelli Rigden. Magician Brian Lehr came to the Trochu Municipal Library to entertain the kids participating in the TD Summer Reading Program. Brian had them fasten their seat belts and flew them all the way to the Amazon for a terrific adventure through the rainforest. Who knew learning about the jungle could be so fun! When the adventure was over Brian flew them home to Trochu. A good time was had by all judging by the smiles and laughs.

Perhaps Mayor Kletke and Councillor Bill Cunningham were a bit late in welcoming Kneehill Funeral Services Ltd. to Trochu, however the news of a crematorium being added is recent. Owners Ed Stephan and Ron Kletke were happy to receive the framed print by Daphne Stankievech to hang in their establishment.

As a welcoming gesture, Trochu Town Council presents a framed print, by Daphne Stankievech, of Dr. Hay's old house at the Arboretum, to new businesses that choose to settle there. The Blue Quill Family Restaurant appears to be a good venture for owners Shelley and Rich Birch, Audrey Ternes and Tom Trask. They were pleased to accept their picture from Mayor Barry Kletke and Councillor Bill Cunningham.
