Derek Trentham, Lead Operator with Pengrowth Corp., presents Three Hills Mayor Tim Shearlaw with $500.00 to the Town of Three Hills. The funds will go toward the upcoming Christmas Tree Burn and Winter Celebration to be held Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the Three Hills Recreation Park. Diesel theft leads to recovery of $150,000 worth of stolen property

 

For the week of Jan. 1 to Jan. 7, 2011 the Three Hills RCMP had 23 calls for service.  The detachment had 7 guests for the month and 49 charges laid for various offences.

Environment Canada warned Albertans that we were in for a winter storm and it came with a vengeance. Snow and strong winds created hard packed snow drifts that shut down the Trans Canada Highway leaving numerous motorists stranded. Area motels filled up and hockey games were cancelled as the storm continued throughout the weekend. Three Hills RCMP report four minor traffic mishaps with no injuries reported.
