Connie Osterman, a former provincial politician and member of the Legislated Assembly (1979-1992) attended an Acme Library sponsored Strawberry Shortcake and Tea on Monday afternoon, October 18 in order to present the Library with a first copy edition of Acme's Centennial History Book. Ms. Osterman purchased the book when it was auctioned at Acme's Centennial celebration held this past summer. Canadian teens face many tough issues, issues that can make or break a life.
Last weekend, Prairie Bible College hosted its 4th annual Purely Canadian Youth Workers Conference where some of those tough issues were tackled under the theme of "Wreckage."

Crash victims escape serious injury

 

A one-ton truck driven by a male resident of Carstairs, was northbound on SR#806 on Friday, October 15 at 7:00 am, when it collided with a westbound semi truck (hauling grain) at the intersection of 806 and 583. The cab of the semi became detached from the trailer and laid on its side. It was mangled to a point that its driver and passenger (from Strathmore) had to be extricated but had no apparent serious injuries. "They received cuts and bruises," said Three Hills RCMP.
