Paul Touzin, Inuvik to Ottawa

 

His voyage begins on the most northern road in Canada, along the Dempster Highway. Paul Touzin flies from his home in Ottawa, Ontario to an airport in Inuvik, Northwest Territories, with nothing but his bicycle and a few supplies.
Don't be too quick to judge. The man of 50-something is nothing short of prepared and experienced.
His first real biking trip was a ride through British Columbia in 1976. Paul fell in love with the adventure and has continued to ride through Canada almost every year

Linden repair project nears completion

 

Residents of the Village of Linden have been watching, large earth movers dig out up to nine feet of a full block of First Street NW, as Foran Contracting (sub-contracted from Rubydale Asphalt) replaced the waste water main and removed the poorer quality dirt. The line itself was old and a camera view showed it to have large sags. This particular road had been slated for paving since repairs had been made a couple of years ago to stabilize it after more than half of its width started breaking

Trochu Mayor Barry Kletke and Councillor Bill Cunningham officially welcomed Paul and Seema Napoleon as owners of the Trochu Bottle Depot. They have two daughters, Stephanie and Elsy. Presently assisting them is Matt Powell. Paul and Seema were happy to accept the framed print of a Daphne Stankievech painting as a welcoming gift.
