Prairie College deals with COVID-19 outbreak

After a year of very minimal COVID activity on Prairie College campus, the last week has contained a sudden influx of cases, which as of Tuesday morning totals 16 active cases. Three cases are Prairie staff members, and the remaining 13 are Prairie students. All close and suspected contacts are in isolation or quarantine.

Moving back into Step 1 of COVID-19 restrictions

Alberta is returning to Step 1 of the four-step framework to protect the health system and reduce the rising spread of COVID-19 province-wide.

Effective at 11:59 p.m. on April 6, updated mandatory health measures go into effect for retail, fitness and performance activities. Effective at noon on Friday, April 9, restaurants will be restricted to providing only takeout, delivery and patio service.

Three Hills RCMP arrest wanted male found in a stolen truck with a loaded rifle

On April 4, 2021, at approximately 10:20 AM, the Three Hills RCMP were alerted to a truck parked on Range Road 225 near Trochu, Alberta. Police located the truck and determined it had been stolen from Red Deer, Alberta. The license plate attached was associated to a different vehicle also reported stolen. Three Hills RCMP approached the vehicle and the driver was arrested without incident.
