October 30, 1933 - January 31, 2023
Norman was born to James L. and Mae Rodger on Oct. 30,1933 in Lanark, Ontario. He left home at an early age and worked his way west. He married Margaret Crawford in 1960 and set up farming with her family west of Acme. They raised 2 sons and ran a small feedlot operation. Summers were filled with camping, rodeos, 4-H shows, parades and country music festivals. Winter getaways were to Osoyoos, BC. Attending the activities of their grandchildren was always a highlight. He enjoyed curling, trapshooting, goose hunting, and woodworking. He built coffee tables, plant stands, a truck camper and sleighs. He remained involved in the farming operation and was willing to help out whether it was running equipment, going for parts or checking cows. He always had a story to share and liked visiting with neighbors, friends and family. The Rodger family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary’s Health Centre in Trochu for taking such good care of Norman. He is survived by Brian (Teresa), Don (LauraLee), and grandchildren Dallas, Steven (Shaley), Owen, Kellsy, Danton, Payton, and great grandchild Garth. Sibling Bill (Jolie) and Bev (John). He is predeceased by his wife Margaret and siblings Earle, Les, Harry, Oris, Mavis and Joyce. A Celebration of Life will be held later this year.
