Eric Einer Christiansen passed away peacefully on April 16, 2023, at the age of 89 years. Eric was born on October 7th, 1933, in Spruce View, Alberta to parents Knud and Mathilda Christiansen. He was the 10th of 11 children. His younger years were spent on the family farm near Dickson and Spruce View, Alberta. Some of Eric’s earliest memories include attending school in Raven, Alberta, which was a 1 ½ mile walk from the family farm. He would arrive early every morning because he had the important job of getting the fire started in the wood heater before school started. Eric also helped his family on the farm. After finishing school, Eric held a variety of jobs. He worked in the logging industry, farming, and building roads. He completed an apprenticeship for carpentry and worked in the carpentry trade for 5-6 years. He traveled through the Northwest Territories, then to Edmonton. He then spent 12 years in Vancouver, B.C., for about 12 years, followed by a move back to Alberta to work in the surveying industry throughout the west region of the province. He spent a lot of time around Rocky Mountain House, Alberta. Once Eric was semi-retired, the family was blessed to have Eric bring his multiple skills to numerous building projects over the years. He enjoyed his time with his family, but also treasured time by himself to partake in favourite activities such as camping and fishing. In his later years, Eric resided at Timberstone Mews in Red Deer, Alberta, where he received exceptional care. Eric is survived by many nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and great grand nieces and nephew. Eric’s ashes will be interred at a family plot in Dickson, Alberta. A time for family to get together to celebrate Eric’s life will be planned for a later date. Kneehill Funeral Services entrusted with arrangements
