Sept, Vern Dale (Vern), 69, of Three Hills, Alberta, passed away unexpectedly at home on September 17, 2023. A private family interment took place on September 27, 2023 at the Torrington East Lutheran Cemetery. Vern was born in Three Hills to Edwin and Alvina Sept on December 29, 1953. Once he completed his schooling, Vern made his mark in the oilfield. He explored many facets of this career from working offshore in the Beaufort Sea to consulting. Throughout his oilfield career, Vern always came home to farm. Vern also took great pride in being a volunteer firefighter in his ‘younger years’ at the Three Hills Fire Department. Vern retired from the oilfield at 55 to focus on his dream job of farming. In recent years, he found a new hobby within the car racing community, and earned the title Crew Chief of the Year in 2019. Vern is survived by his niece Krisaundra (Clinton) Satre, Nephew Nathan Sept (Audrey Braun), Great Nephew Kaden Satre, Great Nieces Catherine and Claire Satre, numerous extended family members. Vern is predeceased in death by his Brother, Larry, and parents Edwin and Alvina. A celebration of Vern’s life will be held on October 28, at the Three Hills Community Centre at 2 pm.
