Obit Nettie Davidson

Mrs. Nettie Davidson of Calgary, beloved mother & grandmother, went home to be with Jesus on Monday, November 13, 2023. She is lovingly remembered by her sons, Kevin (Angela) and Stan (Nancy); her grandchildren, Sergio, Analena, Jane, Alyssa, Jayden, James & Lucas; and her two siblings, Sue and Lydia (Steve); as well as many nieces, nephews & friends. Nettie was predeceased by her parents, Peter & Susanna Siebert and her siblings, Peter, David, Mary, Anne, Tina, John, Helen, Jake & Henry. Nettie was born in Coaldale, Alberta, on September 27, 1932. She had the privilege of being raised in a Christian home and accepted the Lord as her Savior at an early age. In her younger years, Nettie worked on the farm with her parents. Having graduated from High School, Nettie enrolled in nurses training in Calgary and became an LPN. She started her nursing career in Hanna and then moved to Three Hills. Frequent visits to the hospital by a certain young man resulted in marrying Chester Davidson on August 20, 1966. In addition, she was the co-owner of the Coffee Break Restaurant where she spent all her free time when not at the hospital or managing the home. Music was an integral part of her life. Singing at home was a regular occurrence and continued when she went to nursing school. She sang on one of the local radio stations for several years and then with her sisters. Even in her final days’ when her sisters came to visit, they would sing together. Today, she is singing in Heaven’s choir. In 2000, she & Chester moved to Calgary where they connected with the community and started attending Foothills Alliance Church. Mom’s strong but quiet faith in God, her sweet smile, generous spirit, and servant’s heart is an amazing legacy to follow. She dearly loved her family and friends (especially her grandchildren) and made herself available to support them every chance she had. Mom lived an abundant & joyful life. We are thankful she is now more fully alive than ever & look forward to seeing her again one day. To view and share stories, memories, and picture of Nettie, please visit www.choicememorial.com.
