NAKASKA, Andrew John

Andrew John Nakaska, 90, of Three Hills, Alberta passed away peacefully on December 5, 2023. Andy was the youngest son of Joe and Rosie Nakaska. He grew up on the family farm in Ghost Pine where he attended the Lumni School in his younger years. For grade 10, he attended Pontmain School in Trochu followed by the remainder of his schooling in Drumheller. He met the love of his life, Irene, and they were married for 63 years. Together they worked side by side on the farm as well as enjoyed spending time together camping, bowling, dancing, and playing cards. He was a member of the Elks and Knights of Columbus. Andy sat on the Trochu-Three Hills Hog Shipping Association board. He was also a founding

member of both the Orkney Gas Coop and Hillside Lanes in Three Hills. He is survived by his wife Irene, his children Laurie (John), Judy (Darcy), Donna (Kelly), Lyle (Elaine), Valerie (John), and Faron (Heather), 19 grandchildren and their spouses, 25 great grandchildren, his brother Ed (Karin), sister-in-laws Ann and Bonnie, and many nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by his parents Joe and Rosie, his parent-in-laws Henry and

Alice, his sisters Juliana and Margaret, his brothers Joe and Aloysius, his sister-in-laws Ann, Julia, and Rita, and brother-in-laws Richard and Alan. Funeral services were held Saturday, December 16, 2023 at St. Anne of the Prairies Catholic Church in Trochu. Memorial donations can be made to the Three Hills
