BASHFORTH, Brenda - On December 22, 2010, Brenda Bashforth passed away peacefully at the age of 89 at St. Mary's, Trochu. She will be lovingly remembered by her children Wendy (Ken) Maxwell of Trochu and Graydon (Patricia) Clarke of Red Deer; her grandchildren Wayne (Catherine) Maxwell, John Maxwell and James and Fletcher Clarke. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren Reed and Lou Maxwell who she dearly loved, and her two sisters Florence and Nora, of England, who were often in her thoughts. Brenda came to Canada as a war bride, having married Harry Clarke in England during the war. They set up in the Lousana-Elnora district, Harry ranching and Brenda working at the Elnora Hospital. After the loss of Harry, Brenda married Walter Bashforth and spent three decades in Vernon, BC working and enjoying the company of friends. Not long after Walter's passing, Brenda returned to Alberta to be close to her family. She was a sweet and gentle person who will be missed by all who knew her. The family would like to thank the staff at St. Mary's for the wonderful care Brenda received while residing there. She often remarked on how well she was treated. As were her wishes, there will be no service. Memorial donations may be made to St. Mary's, Trochu, 451 de Chauncey Avenue, Box 100, Trochu, AB T0M 2C0.
