BERRETH, Herda - On Sunday, February 27, 2011, Herda Berreth of Edmonton went peacefully to be with her Lord. Herda was born at Firstenfeld, Romania on December 1, 1927, and baptized in Calgary, AB on February 22, 1942. She lived her life for her Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. She was a kind and loving Mother, wife, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt and friend. In addition to this, she loved her garden and flowers. She also enjoyed visiting and was friendly and cheerful to everyone she met. She lived her life in a selfless manner, always thinking of others before herself. She gave all of herself to the service of others. During the last fragile months of her life, when asked "How are you?" she would reply "I'm fine", even though those who saw her knew better. Her faith never failed. She is lovingly remembered and missed by her children; Sheila (Ted) Butterwick, Marc Berreth, Faye Berreth and Violet (Mel) Plett, four grandchildren Sarah (Kevin) Burghardt, Melissa (Jason) Schaub, Randy and Michael Plett, three great-grandchildren Hannah and Aiden Burghardt & Silas Schaub, sisters Ida (Alf) Dorn and Gladys Roths, brothers Art (Regina) Heinrich & Emil Heinrich, and many other family and friends. She was predeceased by her husband Roland in 2007. A celebration of her life will be held on Saturday, March 5, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Bethel Evangelical Free Church, Three Hills, Alberta. Her Final Resting Place will be at the Three Hills Cemetery alongside her husband Roland. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Herda may be made to Christlike Ministries Inc, Box 149, Warman, Saskatchewan S0K 4S0.
