Seniors Outreach Program Society’s Mission is all about community and the power of volunteering. We believe that it is crucial for seniors to have a safe space to go in order to interact with each other in a stress free environment.
Community is a strong asset for fighting against mental health issues such as depression as well as helping with daily physical needs. We try to create this environment in our offices where you can get answers to various seniors’ related questions and at our Drop-In Centre (Three Hills) where you can enjoy cards, pool, and more.
The Drop-In Centre is a big part of being involved in the community. It gives seniors a safe place to go to and to relax and socialize. They can keep active by playing things like pool, or just sit down and play a game of cards – with coffee.
Through Seniors Outreach Program Society, we strive to make volunteers feel empowered and to play a big part in what Seniors Outreach is. “Seniors helping Seniors.” Our organization needs volunteers to help with things such as:
a. Caring Car driving which brings people to appointments and delivery of Meals on Wheels to people that can’t drive themselves;
b. Bus driving to provide weekly community trips and specialty trips to a variety of activities (concerts, events and site visits);
c. Handyman or Handywoman to help in providing small ‘fix-its’ where assistance is needed;
d. Receptionists;
e. Hosts/Hostesses at the Community Drop-In Centre (Three Hills); and
f. Data Entry.
Amongst other volunteer opportunities.
Seniors Outreach aims at supporting, helping, and caring for seniors the best that we can. We try to be actively involved in our community with the various programs that we run and the weekly bus trips and Drop-In Centre. You can come to our offices (across the Kneehill County area) for information about federal and provincial government forms, transports, support groups, etc. Our staff will be more than happy to welcome you and help you with anything you need.
